Autism Evaluations
Autism evaluations are available for children ages 18 months through 6 years.
All evaluations are completed in person by our staff psychologist, who has extensive experience working with young children with autism and developmental differences.
We believe an autism evaluation should involve more than a single test or a remote review of someone else’s findings. Each evaluation includes direct observation of your child, developmental and behavioral assessment, parent history and concerns, and clinical interpretation of the information gathered.
An Added Layer of Quality Review
Because families should be able to trust the evaluation process, Acorn adds an additional level of independent professional review.
With parent permission, evaluations are video recorded and reviewed by an outside Psychologist who is not affiliated with Acorn Autism.
This provides another professional perspective and helps ensure that diagnostic conclusions are thoughtful, well-supported, and clinically sound.
Who We evaluate
We currently offer autism evaluations for children ages 18 months through 6 years, with particular experience evaluating young children with significant communication, developmental, adaptive, or behavioral support needs.
Insurance
We work with many families covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield, TRICARE, and United Healthcare / Optum. Coverage for autism evaluations varies by plan, and benefits will be verified before scheduling.
